Three-Tier Approach

Not only we cover every possible angle of the outage, but we tend to include (cost-permissive) three tiers of disaster protection. Well, the server just crashed. Now What? We can help you: We cover every possible angle of the outage, but we tend to include (cost-permissive) three tiers of disaster protection. Well, the server just crashed. Now What? We can help you:

  • Load the latest server snapshot using virtualization solution and restore the latest data from Continuous Protection backup.
  • Bring the disaster recovery server from the cold-site to the headquarters and swap the hard drives.
  • Perform a backup-software-based server restore.

Cost-Efficiency

We thoroughly analyze client’s requirements and draft disaster recovery proposals that will balance the budget, TTR (Time To Restore) and PDL (Potential Data Loss) for company systems. Obviously, bank’ servers and website need to come up within seconds of the disaster and even one minute of data or transaction loss in unacceptable. A smaller company that can live for half-a-day without internet due to the nature of it’s business activities will likely waste money on the live replication systems and hot standby servers.

Documentation and Testing

Quarterly (and sometimes monthly or even weekly) maintenance is crucial in ensuring that disaster recovery protection stays effective. It is coupled with periodic “dry runs”, when during the scheduled maintenance windows the live systems are taken offline and disaster recovery systems are brought online and tested. These tests are always done with full participation of the client’s IT department and key client users. All disaster recovery system configurations, checklists and instructional materials are thoroughly documented and this documentation is maintained during the quarterly maintenance.
